A B O U T

theARCHES
The Arches was originally built in 1870 as St. Cecilia’s Church, serving generations of families in the Coatesville area. For more than 140 years, this building has been a place where life’s most meaningful moments were celebrated — a tradition that continues today through weddings and special events at The Arches.
Named for St. Cecilia, the patron saint of music, the space was designed to elevate sound. Acoustic music, a cappella vocals, and string ensembles are especially stunning here, just as the church was originally intended, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for ceremonies and celebrations.
Built in the Swiss Gothic style, the structure features a serpentine stone exterior quarried in Southern Chester County, along with arched windows, a central rose window, and overlooking balconies. Many of the remaining windows are Grisaille windows, a historic style of stained glass developed in the 12th and 13th centuries, allowing soft natural light to fill the space.
Recently renovated by a wedding photographer with couples in mind, The Arches features a neutral palette of gray and white, offering a blank canvas that allows couples to make the space their own and create the wedding or event they envision.
